The location of the event conveys a kind of vibe that the newlyweds want to convey. This is how a fairy tale was created in a mystical setting under the branches of an old oak surrounded by tables made of raw Brac stone and surrounded by wooden benches and chairs. The stone steps that led to the entrance were lit by lanterns with wax candles, and the light bulbs spread throughout the space were like a "starry sky" and created the impression of a fairy tale.

A stone table is a "tablecloth" in itself, especially since it is a well-known stone from the island of Brac. Carefully chosen details which supplemented raw stone tables were an old decoration of our grandmother’s and mother’s, called merle which are hand-crocheted antique tablecloths. Fresh springs of flowers in small and different vases, stone holders for table names and wax candles in glass holders made the environment magical.

At first it seems that this is not a classic tiered wedding cake, but if you look a little closer, you will see that this cake is actually a three-tiered cake! It is a traditional Italian wedding cake, Millefoglie in translation "a thousand layers", and considering the engagement on the island of Capri in Italy, we wanted those memories to be part of that day (details that can be included in your story, something special for you) . The very size of the cake circle, whose diameter was 85 cm, already caused a wow effect among the guests. It was served on a sinija (a wooden tray on which soparnik is placed, a traditional dish from the town of Poljica near Split made of thin dough filled with sliced ​​Swiss chard and baked under onions), which was also served as an appetizer. Even greater enthusiasm was achieved by the fact that the newlyweds carried the cake themselves, and the guests lit the way with thin sprinklers, thus creating a fairy-tale scene. The layers of the cake are arranged alternately in rows of puff pastry and pastry cream, and fresh berries are added on top. A complete surprise for all present was the part when the newlyweds took an old wooden sieve and sprinkled the top of the cake with powdered sugar, and a few heads that were nearby. This cake is certainly the only wedding cake that disappeared in an instant!

The sweet corner contained traditional sweets, mostly dry cakes typical for the Dalmatian region. In order to give the guests an even closer look at the meaning and history of each dessert, but also a link for newlyweds and certain desserts, such as Capri cake or Lički strudel, short stories describing each one have been placed next to them. In the end, the most important thing was that everyone had a sweet tooth time!

Why rustic bottles? Because our families have been producing brandy enriched with plants harvested in the garden around the house for decades. From the riot of white hydrangeas that arrived the day before the wedding, I pulled one out and said "This hydrangea will be my bouquet!". Completely unexpectedly, instead of a bunch of olive branches, we arranged a bouquet of only one flower. The jute-wrapped stem and the added ribbon of lace that ran down the bouquet made it rustic and connected to the whole story of the wedding decorations like the merles that were on the tables.
